Working principle and application of Globe Valve
The working principle of Globe Valve mainly depends on the vertical movement of disc along the center line of valve seat to realize the on-off and flow adjustment of fluid. Globe valve consists of valve body, valve seat, disc, valve stem, stuffing box and driving device.
When the driving device (such as manual handwheel, electric actuator, pneumatic actuators, etc.) moves, the valve stem is driven to move up and down in a straight line. The valve stem is connected with the disc, so that the disc can rise and fall on the valve seat accordingly. When the disc descends and presses tightly on the valve seat, the Globe Valve closes, blocking the passage of fluid. When the disc is lifted away from the valve seat, the fluid can pass through the gap between the valve seat and the disc to realize the open state. By precisely controlling the lifting height of the valve disc, the fluid flow can be finely adjusted, which gives it an advantage in situations where flow adjustment is needed.
In the industrial field, globe valves are widely used. In the chemical industry, due to many corrosive media involved in chemical production, such as various acids and alkali solutions, Globe Valves made of corrosion-resistant materials (such as stainless steel, fluorine lining, etc.) are usually used. These globe valves are installed on the feed and discharge pipelines and material conveying pipelines of various reactors, which can not only accurately control the flow of corrosive media to ensure the smooth progress of chemical reaction, but also effectively resist the corrosion of media and ensure the service life of valves. In the process of petroleum refining, in the pipeline system of crude oil distillation, oil refining and other links, the Globe Valve is used to control the flow of oil products. Under the working conditions of high temperature, high pressure and certain viscosity of oil products, the Globe Valve ensures the stability and safety of oil transportation by virtue of its good sealing performance and reliable operation performance.
In the water supply and drainage system of buildings, cut-off valves are often used in indoor water supply pipes of residential and commercial buildings. Install a Globe Valve at each household's water inlet pipeline. When the indoor pipeline or water equipment needs maintenance, users can conveniently close the Globe Valve and cut off the water flow to avoid affecting other households. In the fire water system of large buildings, the cut-off valve also plays a key role. It is installed in the inlet and outlet pipelines of fire pumps and various branches of fire pipe network, which can ensure the normal supply and flow control of fire water when a fire occurs, and provide a strong guarantee for fire fighting.
In heating and air conditioning systems, Globe Valves are used to adjust the flow of hot water or cold water to achieve accurate control of indoor temperature. In the central heating system, the hot water flow into the radiator can be controlled by adjusting the opening of the Globe Valve installed in front of the radiator, thus adjusting the indoor temperature. In the chilled water and cooling water pipelines of air conditioning system, Globe Valves are also used for flow regulation to ensure the normal operation of air conditioning units and provide a comfortable indoor environment for buildings.
